At Family Cyclers, we just wanted to ride our bikes instead of drive our cars. And we have families. Basically we rejected the notion that mini-vans or S.U.V.’s were the only way to move kids and equipment around and decided to do it on a bike. Which is, obviously, easier said than done.
To that end, we would like to create a space where families can gather information, share stories and ideas, and support each other in our efforts to ride more and drive less.
Along the way we will highlight safety tips, equipment reviews, D.I.Y. equipment plans, and as many personal stories as we can. You know, just to show other people are doing it. Please feel free to add your own comments on what works for you and any roadblocks you’ve come across.

Our dream is to open a bicycle shop specifically for people who want to spend more time with their families and less money on gas. Instead of gear you can pick up at any “big box” retailer, we’ll stock specialty bikes and child-carriers that are hard to come by in the U.S. We’re also looking at some very interesting bike-modification kits and accessories that just look cool!
To that end, some of our reviews will link to the product’s website with an affiliate link. If you like what you see and purchase something from that site, we’ll get a small commission for driving sales their way. It’s not much, and it doesn’t cost you anything extra. Just a marketing tool to help great companies find customers who are looking for their products. So thanks for helping out.
As more and more people decide that biking makes a lot of sense, we hope that this space becomes a valuable resource towards getting families out there with their kids and their lives and leaving their cars behind.
